The
Builders' Club
Changing lives
one nail at a time...
How
exciting it is to see a family, who has always lived in substandard housing, make the move into their first "real" home
- a home built by the Artesia community through Habitat For Humanity. And equally exciting is for Habitat to be able
to begin the next home for another family anxiously waiting to help build it with us and buy it through a twenty-year,
no interest loan.
The average cost for a Habitat house in Artesia is $58.00 per square foot. We are looking for "permanent members" (individuals, organizations, churches) willing to give at least $50.00 toward a Habitat house each time Artesia Habitat builds one. Your $50.00 combined with the gifts of the other "Builders" would provide $12,500. That is what it takes to pour the foundation and raise the frame of the next Habitat home for a low-income family needing our partnership in their effort to have a decent, affordable place to live.
J
ust $50.00 from caring people can keep Artesia's needy moving into a decent home and can keep Habitat
For Humanity Artesia moving on to help others. Please consider becoming one of our "Builders". Or ask your Sunday School class, Church group or organization to become a "Builder". Ten people in your group could pledge $10.00 per house, allowing the group to become "Builders" at the $100.00 level. These gifts are tax deductible as well.

The dream of the Builders'
Club is to reach a membership of 1,400. That number at $50 per "Builder" would provide enough money to build each new house at today's rates. With your help and the help of others, we can reduce poverty housing - one house
at a time and provide a decent home for Artesia residents.
Please pick up your hammer now!
Click on "Join the Builders Club" button below. Complete the form and e-mail or snail mail it today and become
a "Builder". It is a simple concept, AND it works. Won't you join us?
Every Habitat house built in Artesia not only blesses the family living in it, it benefits the entire Artesia community: Vacant property is developed, the city tax rolls increase, and whole neighborhoods take on a new look. |

We
hope to announce in our next newsletter that many in the
Artesia community have enrolled in The Builders' Club. Businesses and churches are encouraged
to join in this partnership too. As we enjoy our own homes,
let's help more Artesia families
with their dream of a decent home. |
